It more fun in Davao

Welcome to Crocodile Park.

                Plan A - visit the gigantic crocodiles at crocodile park and watch evening show. It was a gloomy day. Clouds turn to grayish as if it will rain. The wind was so strong. However, since everything was planned, we must go there. Good thing that we have car with us. Less transportation fee. :) Upon arriving at the area, we learned that there was no evening shows in weekends. So instead of entering and paying for the entrance fee, we decided to walked around outside the park and took pictures.

Behind me is the mural painting presenting the Tribu K' Mindanawan (cultural village). Davaoeñous are  very proud presenting their cultural arts in the world. Not to mention, how many tribes do Davao was composed of? I can name few but more or less, 13 tribes. (I'm not sure). 

Welcome to Jacksridge, Davao City.

              After crocodile park, we visited the Jacksridge. It was located in Matina, few kilometers from crocodile park. This is not my first time to visit here. But I really like this place for two reasons - first, you can see the overview image of Davao City (very good at night because of lights) and historical docu's and arts of the place and second, a good destination for couples who were on dating and outing.

Going to Japanese War Plane

Yes, Jacksridge has also swimming pool.

After enjoying Davao's view, you can swim on their pool. Summer is near. Make one of these on your destinations. 

This is the tunnel's entrance used by Japanese soldiers to hide during world war 2. 

I attempt entering this tunnel. But my mind change since I was wearing shorts and don't have protective gear with me. (defensive mode) This tunnel is about approximately 2 feet tall with 2 feet in diameter. Japanese are really wise men! (salute) Who would thought that they will hide inside this tunnel for a long long time ago? I really wondered what is inside. (curios mind)

Japanese war plane crashed on the mountains of Jackridge during world war 2 in 1940's. This is near in the entrance tunnel (photo above). 

Gigantic old sea Taklobo shells are said to be the silent witnesses of Davao's watery past. 

Durian Eaters Statue

If you're in Davao, you must try eating the king of the jungle fruits, Durian! It was one of the greatest attractions in Davao. Oh! Durian has different variety! They have distinct (unique)smell but it really taste good. As a matter of fact, there are so many foreigners and locals who came here just to eat Durian. 

Davao City will  be celebrating "76th Araw  ng Davao" (Davao's Day) on March 16, 2013. It is a week-long celebration of the founding of the city with lots of cultural presentations of several ethnic tribes, sports competitions, parades and selection of Mutya ng Davao (Miss Davao) which was the highlights of the celebration. 

Hopefully, you can visit our place and celebrate with us.

Weekly Haul

‘Twas Saturday night. After my work and receive my pay slip, I decided to go home early – not in my parent’s house. I’m currently living in my friend’s boarding house (trying to live independent). Though I have co-room boarders here, it seems that we’re not really “that” close. We talked but very often. It’s just a simple “hi” and “hello” or greetings. Sometimes, I lacked myself inside my room, sleep all day or watch cp-tv. How bored my life is, isn’t it? (lol) After I took a bath, I lied on my bed and played temple run on my phone. After an hour, I realized that I couldn’t sleep. To cut the story short, I decided to go out for awhile. I ended up strolling at downtown.

The night was so young. There was a band singing at Rizal Park. Along the streets were food vendors and thrift sellers. A date with myself alone!

For clothes, I bought a loose shirt (Left side: forgot the brand). It has two toned color-grayish in the inner with designs of caramel-brown. I also bought a 3/4 semi-satin mint-green with laced-raffled top. Introducing my fave pick - that shorts (bottom-right)! Who would thought that I got that at very cheapest price - 45php! It has he same texture with my bangkok clothes. Wasn't that cute? (*_*)

Nude plastic-inspired booties

I know summer is approaching but can't help myself buying booties. But don't you know, our weather is changing lately. Even though the climate is really hot and sunny, supposed to be "really hot" since it is already March, suddenly it'll rain. Weather is really unpredictable just like my twisted thoughts! 

Brown-military shoes inspired

For me, it doesn't matter if I wore branded clothes or not. What's the most important I am comfortable enough on wearing my outfits. The secret ingredient? - Confidence and Attitude (on how are you going to wear them). Practically speaking, you can also save 50% to 90% if you'll go to thrift shops. 

Tips on selecting thrift clothes:

1.) Check the hemlines for any alterations, and discolorations especially in the armpit areas and neckline. Don't choose if there are yellowish or grayish in the hemlines. 

2.) Check the quality of the clothes linen (tela). - There are three types of thrift items (based on my experience). First,  selected items that were never used. Usually these items have price tags, and cellophane with them. Some boutiques were buying selected items and sell them via online. Second, the semi-used or slightly used items. And lastly, clothes that can be used inside the house only. Of course, select items that are in good condition. For  me, I usually choose satin, and silk. 

3.) Check the completeness of designs - Buttons must be complete. Zippers are intact. 

For Foot-wears:

You must know what kind of footwear you want to wear or buy. Sometimes, we can find interesting and unique styles in shoe thrift shops. 

1.) For pumps, and heels - check the sole, heels and heel top (top lift). You will know how long they've been used based on the soles and heels' marks. Check also the inner part. Brand names usually can be found inside. Carefully examined the vamp (shoe opening) and the decorations if they are still intact. Try them on your feet and walk. You must be comfortable while walking and have a confidence on wearing them.

2.) For booties - Check the soles, heel caps, and lags. The pull straps or zippers  must be intact.

Found my new photo editor android application - Aviary. It's a free android application where you can download via play store and beautify your photos in just a snap in a finger. Tried it and like the results. Remember, I had a little vacation last Sunday in my so-called province? Yeah, I enjoyed the place so much and I can't help myself to pose in awhile. Thanks God, brought with me my booties (good karma). I really thought I couldn't use it there.

Bright Colours

After my short vacation, back to the reality - work! Such gloomy face of mine masked with bright colors of my top. You know, if you're engaging into business, you should be positive to attracts positive aura. 

Strange but I fell in love with monotone

 Someone told me, "never dwell with negative people, they will pull you down". Well, I tried. There's nothing wrong of trying, isn't it? However, I realized that something is missing. Something is lacking - that is a strong and healthy relationship among your customers and consumers. 

I asked myself: "Why should I avoid them? Why not lift them up and motivate, instead? If these people were so negative then let you're positive aura influence them, right?"

That's why, I decided to wear bright colors. Wearing bright colors give you a positive  mood based on psychology. For the top, decided to wear blue and yellow in hue. Blue signifies trust, confidence, coolness and calm. Yellow, based on psychology, is the strongest colour which lifting our spirits positively and boost our self esteem. Then paired it with black leggings from forever21. "Black combined with other colors can have a very strong statement.  Black is a color that can fit into almost every design to add contrast, type, and make the other colors stand out more."  from www.digitalskratch.com.

So if you think that your in not in good mood, try wearing bright colors like blue, yellow, red, violet, orange and green.

Remember, in your gloomy days, wear bright colours! :)

Our lives is like a puzzle. We need clues and hints that could guide us while we're walking ahead. But have you ever ask yourself what kind of map will you choose? Life give us 10% and the rest, its up to us. Every map has directions.Arrows that pointing to left, right or straight. Same to our lives, our choices are our "directions". It's simple Yes or No. Right or Left. Stop or Go. Actually there is no such things as right or wrong in decision makings. Sometimes, social criticism affects our actions. Well, they said every decisions have consequences.

I'm still bombarded with so many errands. Things that undone. And haven't decide what should I do. 

May my little vacation helps me decide.

Refreshing

Welcome me back to the city! (hoooray! Clap! cLap! Clap!)  Yes, indeed! I spent my weekends in my so-called-province. Told myself that I need a break from city and have a "little" vacation. Makapag-destressing nga. :) 

 So this is what I wore last Sunday morning. Pardon me for my haggard face. (lol!) 

I slept very late because of my insomnia.(defensive?)

This "province" that I'm telling you, is still part of Davao City but the place is really look like a province. More trees, less pollution! More animal noise, less Jeep beeps! Hassle-free, Less Stress! Life, in there, is really reversible. I haven't use my cellphones for almost two days since got difficulty to catch a signal. No high tech gadgets. Just you and your buddy (body). However, my experiences were irreplaceable!

While having my siesta break, got myself busy online shopping. Well, for an office girl like me, don't have time to walk around at mall and shop. (yay! defensive) But I'm so lucky that I got 24/7 internet connection at the office! Great help because online stores are available making our lives so much easier!

Boredom Management

Sitting next to your computer is boring whole day, isn't it? So while listening musics from youtube, I diverted my attention on exploring things. I downloaded Instagram in my phone. And believe me, enjoying my instagram app lately. It's easy and very manageable. Familiar with Textgram application for android phones? I just downloaded and again, explore! Why don't you download it too and see the difference. Create your own textgram and widen your imagination and creations! 

Aside from that, I customized some of my time doing decors! Since its February is a the month of LOVE and HEARTS, we made decorations in the office that could definitely describes LOVE! Oh yeah, Valentines day is near! Its only a one-two-three steps! Simple!

How to make a paper cupid?

1. Gather all the materials needed (scissors, pencils and red Cartolina)

2. Draw a cupid on the cartolina using pencil. If you're not gifted with artistic hands, you can google the images of cupid and trace it. 

3.   Cut using scissors! And you're done!

I tried to make my own, so its your time to do it yourself (DIY).

What else I did to relieve for boredom? Girls are girls! Do you know what's on the mind of girls aside thinking of their boyfriends, and family? Yes! Shopping! Introducing my new collection - Mary Kay!

She told me "if you feel beautiful inside then you're beautiful outside". lol. I'm not that pretty. Besides got first degree burn a week ago. :( Well, thanks to kojic soap with papaya and age-defying cream of 1GOAL. So happy that my skin became fairer. 

Aside from collecting girls stuff, got interested of reading books lately. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People written by Stephen R. Covey. This book taught us to become positive in life and adapt optimistic attitude towards yourself, social and life. You should understand yourself first before you can understand others. I'm still on the first chapter of the book. Well, hopefully, I could finish this before February ends.

                       

              

I also recommend read the books of Chinkee Tan: The Rich Dad and Poor Dad and Till Debt do us Part. It is also helpful that could change your life. :) 

What else makes me busy right now? Oh! Just reading books about relationships which were recommended by some of my dear friends. One of the books in my shelves right now is "Why Men Love Bitches" written by Sherry Argov. Honestly, I got intrigued about this book and the title really captured my attention. So I think, I didn't waste my money for something that is worthless. Well, going back, before reading this book, I texted some friends listed in my phone book. After 15-min, I got a reply from Bang (not his real name) stated that "Well.,hija, I didn't like nor love bitches". LOL! He's funny! So defensive! After reading the introduction, I understand what she (the author) meant about "bitches". Well, I don't want to spoil you! Just read it. :)
